Majilis OKs agr’t with China on building waterworks facility on Khorgos River

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The plenary session of the Majilis has approved the draft law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on cooperation in the construction of a joint combined waterworks "Dostyk" on Khorgos River".

Minister of Environment and Water resources Mr. Kapparov said that the agreement on the construction of waterworks on Khorgos River was signed November 13, 2010 in Karaganda.

"Dostyk" waterworks facility is planned to be installed on Khorgos River in the distance of 24.5 kilometers from Khorgos border crossing point. Joint waterworks facility to be owned by the state parties which will halve the expenses.
