Majilis OKs bill on peacemaking efforts
"Kazakhstan's previous experience in participation in international peacekeeping efforts and norms of the model law on participation of the CIS member countries in peacekeeping efforts, adopted at the 23th plenary session of the Inter-parliamentary Assembly of the CIS member states, were taken into account while developing the bill. Specific amendments were made to some legislative acts on military service, including those on social guarantees and benefits for military and civilian personnel", Kazakhstan's Vice Minister of Defense Talgat Mukhtarov said, introducing the bill at the session. In his words, adoption of the bill will help enhance Kazakhstan's prestige in the international arena and promote its interests in the global community. Besides, it will help obtain an invaluable experience in interaction with military and civilian personnel of other countries and prepare the Kazakh armed forces and government bodies to protect the internal security of the country.
