Majilis ratified Kazakhstan-Italy strategic partnership agreement

ASTANA. March 16. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament has approved a draft law "On ratification of the agreement on strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Italy" on March 16.

"The agreement was signed by the Secretary of State - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev and Foreign Affairs Minister of Italy Franco Frattini on November 5, 2009 during the President Nursultan Nazarbayev's official visit to Rome. The document was initiated by Kazakhstan within the framework of the state program "Path to Europe", Deputy Foreign Minister Konstantin Zhigalov said introducing the bill.

He noted that Italy was one of the key political and economic partners of Kazakhstan in Europe.
