Majilis ratifies UNESCO Convention on Intangible Cultural Heritage
TANA. November 9. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ At today's plenary sitting the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament has approved a draft law "On ratification of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage".
Intangible Cultural Heritage means the practices, representations, expressions, knowledge, skills - as well as the instruments, objects, artifacts and cultural spaces associated therewith - that communities, groups and, in some cases, individuals recognize as part of their cultural heritage.
The Convention was adopted by UNESCO on 17 October 2003.
