Majilis Speaker, EU Special Representative for Central Asia meet
ASTANA. March 10. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan attaches a big importance to cooperation with the European Union, Majilis Chairman Ural Mukhamedzhanov announced in the meeting with EU Special Representative for Central Asia Pierre Morel; Kazinform refers to the Majilis?s press service.
The EU Special Representative stated interest of the EU in further strengthening and development of bilateral relations.
Nowadays it is important to remove obstacles and extend connections. The most relevant is successful completion of bilateral talks with the EU on Kazakhstan?s accession to the World Trade Organization and the issue of granting Kazakhstan the status of the market economy country .
The Speaker emphasized that promotion of interaction with the EU becomes particularly important in the light of the upcoming Kazakhstan?s chairmanship in the OSCE in 2010.
Touching upon extension of trade-economic and investment cooperation, the Majilis Speaker noted that the foreign trade turnover with the EU countries increased by 42.1 percent against 2007.
