Majilis Speaker reports to President Nazarbayev - Akorda

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Majilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin has reported to the Head of State on the work of the Lower Chamber of the Kazakh Parliament today, the president's press service reports.

During the meeting in the Akorda presidential residence, there were discussed draft laws necessary for successful implementation of the President's Address and the Kazakhstan-2050 Development Strategy.

Mr. Nigmatulin informed President Nazarbayev of the results of MPs' tours around the regions of Kazakhstan. In his words, Kazakhstani parliamentarians held 1 300 regional meetings with 140 000 people to raise public awareness about the development strategy.

In addition, the Majilis Speaker noted the Parliament of the V convocation adopted 255 bills, 21 of which were initiated by the majilismen themselves. 173 out of 183 bills submitted to the Senate were enacted into laws. Currently, Majilis is considering 60 draft laws.
