Majilis to review draft amendments to Constitutional Law on Judicial System and Status of Judges

Majilis will review in the first reading the draft amendments to the Constitutional Law "On the Judicial System and Status of Judges of the Republic of Kazakhstan". As noted in the report of the relevant committee, the document is aimed at strengthening the independence of judges, improving the competitive selection procedure of candidates for judicial office, strengthening the role of the public in the selection of candidates for judgeships, etc.

The draft agenda of the plenary session also includes the first reading amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences and the bill on ratification of the Protocol on the application of the Agreement as of October 18, 2011 on the free trade area between the parties and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
