Major fire breaks out at oil refinery in Samara region, no victims
SAMARA. December 14. KAZINFORM. A major fire broke out at an oil refinery in the Samara region. According to the preliminary reports, no casualties sustained, chief press officer of the Samara regional emergencies department Mikhail Metelkin told Itar-Tass on Monday; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

The delayed coker unit sparked up at 01.38 a.m. Moscow time on Monday at the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery (about 30 kilometers away from Samara).
The fire area amounted to 1,000 meters. The fire was ranked highly dangerous with a looming threat for the fire to spread.
Nine employees were evacuated. No injured or killed people were reported.
The fire was localized at 03.38 Moscow time. The firefighting efforts are in progress; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
