Major Japanese automakers report big drop in global output in January
TOKYO. February 25. KAZINFORM The big three Japanese automakers of Toyota, Honda and Nissan on Wednesday reported big drops in their respective global production in January.
Toyota Motor Corp. logged a 39.1 percent decrease to 487,984 units in its global output in January, including two major subsidiaries of Daihatsu and Hino.
According to statistics released by the company Wednesday, Toyota's domestic output fell 34.6 percent to 277,472 units while its overseas production fell 44.2 percent to 210,512 units.
In its report, Honda Motor Co. said that it suffered a 33.5 percent shrinkage to 226,551 units in its global production in January, with its domestic output down 23.0 percent to 77,224 units and overseas output down 37.9 percent to 149,327 units; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
Meanwhile, Nissan Motor Co. reported a plunge of up to 54.0 percent to 145,286 units in January, with its domestic output diving 59.0 percent to 47,477 units and overseas output sinking 51.2 percent to 97,809 units.
