Mangistau region sees 20% increase in tourist arrivals

367,000 tourists arrived in Mangistau region in the first half of 2024, according to Governor Nurdaulet Kilybay who said it at a press conference in the Central Communications Service today, Kazinform News Agency reports.

“In line with the President’s tasks, we have compiled a comprehensive plan for the development of the region’s tourism industry. For example, in the first half of 2024, 367,000 tourists arrived  [in Mangistau region - edit] from abroad and regions of our country, who were provided with services worth 15.2 billion tenge. Growth is estimated at 20% compared to the last year. We plan to implement 11 projects in the territory of Aktau’s "warm beach" to the amount of 100 billion tenge. This year, we have implemented 3 projects worth 8.3 billion tenge,” he said.

The governor reported also about elaboration of a master plan for the Kendirli resort area development. In his words, it is important to complement coastal and ecotourism with entertainment tourism to boost the resort area’s overall development.
