Manufacturing in Almaty increased by 15% over 2011

ALMATY. February 8. KAZINFORM /Berik Bekmurzayev/ Huge work has been done over the program of forced industrial innovative development, within which nine projects amounting to KZT 172 billion were implemented within the Industrialization Map.

65 projects amounting to KZT 18.6 billion were approved within the Business Road Map 2020. This influenced the increase of manufacturing output by 15 percent. Almaty Mayor Akhmetzhan Yessimov has announced at a reporting meeting with the residents on the results of 2011.

"Small and medium business occupies special place. Despite the economic crisis, over the past two years our entrepreneurship not only recovered, but strengthened as well. The number of active entities of SME increased by 13.3 percent last year; 373 thousand Almaty residents are working in this sphere," he said.
