Massimov charged to render aid to families of fire victims
ANA. November 10. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Today at the Governmental session Prime Minister Karim Massimov has charged his office and akimats to render aid to the families of the victims of Nov 9 Astana warehouse fire.
The PM also entrusted the Foreign Office with a task to work out the issues of identification of the Russian citizens who died in the fire jointly with the Russian Embassy in Astana.
As Minister of Emergencies Vladimir Bozhko confirmed, 14 people - 9 men and 5 women - died in the fire. Four of them are the citizens of Russia.
"The victims are also from Stepnogorsk, Akmola and Zhambyl oblasts", Bozhko said.
The death of the people was caused by poisoning with carbon monoxide. The fire at the under-construction warehouse of the logistics centre of Astana Iindustrial Park covered the area of 8 thousand sq m. The total area of the project is 10 thousand sq m.
A criminal case was launched upon the fact of fire.
