Massimov laid flowers to Gagarin monument in Moscow

MOSCOW. November 6. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov visited the Gagarin State Scientific Research-and-Testing Cosmonaut Training Center on Sunday in Moscow.

He laid flowers to the monument to Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space. Also, Massimov got familiarized with the main training halls of the Center and model of the ISS Russian segment (RS) integrated simulator.

The Cosmonaut Training Center was inaugurated on January 11, 1960 in Star City outside Moscow. In 1969 it was named after Yuri Gagarin, the first man to fly in space. In 1995 the Cosmonaut Training Center and Air Force Test and Training regiment were merged and reorganized into its current form.
