Mayor says Astana's face to change prior to EXPO-2017

ASTANA. February 21. KAZINFORM Astana Akimat (administration) has named new landmarks that will appear in the Kazakh capital prior to the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017.

New parks, a 100 ha botanical garden, a park along the Yessil River and a unique ethno village are to appear in Astana, according to the statement made by Astana mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov.

An opera and ballet theater, a library, the First President Fund, a national museum, a space research center, the National Defense University, a roofed city, Abu Dhabi Plaza complex, Hilton Hotel, Marriott Hotel, Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel, and an ice stadium will be added to Astana's architectural face.

According to Astana's press service, construction of a new railway station, 4 km away from the Palace of Peace and Accord, is about to start.
