Measles cases spike in Kostanay region

Over 20 measles cases were recorded in Kostanay in early December against 32 registered in November, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The number of measles climbed to 145 so far.

Most cases of 56.5% (82 cases) were detected in people who have never been vaccinated against measles. 64.1% or 93 cases were recorded in children below 14 years old.

The only way to prevent measles spread and its complications is the vaccination. 44,500 are subject to vaccination against measles. As of today, 2,383 people, or 5,4% were vaccinated.
