Meeting of SCO defense ministers kicks off in Astana

ASTANA. March 17. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ A sitting of the SCO defense ministers under the chairmanship of Kazakh Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov has started in Astana today.

Opening the meeting Mr. Dzhaksybekov noted that for 10 years of its existence SCO became an integral part of security in the vast Eurasian continent and an example of building true partnership relations.

The ministers are expected to exchange opinion on topical issues of the SCO defense agencies, and sign two documents. They are a plan of cooperation for 2012-2013 and a joint communique.

Then the ministers are planned to speak at a joint press conference.
