Military Band of Kazakhstan to perform in UK

LONDON.  November 25. KAZINFORM The Central Military Band of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan will give performances on 17 November - 1 December 2009 in the 11 cities of the United Kingdom supported by the Embassy of Kazakhstan and organizers of Birmingham Tattoo.

The Military Band of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan carefully preserves traditions of the folk and old music, performing the works of well-known composers as well as works based on Kazakh music. Some national wind and percussion instruments have been introduced in the Band.

The Military Band of Kazakhstan will take part in the 21st Birmingham Tattoo at the National Indoor Arena - Birmingham on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th November 2009. This annual event brings together massed bands from different countries to ensure a three hour spectacular which attracts large audiences each year. The Birmingham Tattoo is one of the largest gatherings of massed military bands, standard bearers and other performers, bringing nearly 1,000 performers together for the two performances.

The joint performance with the band of the Brigade of Gurkhas is to be held in Leeds and Reading and the other performance with the U.S. Army band is planned in Stoke-on-Trent.

The Military Band of Kazakhstan has already participated in the Lord Mayor's Show in London in 2007.

The official date of the establishment of the Military Band Service is 1994 becoming an integral part of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan.

From the first day of activity of the Military Band Service of Kazakhstan, colonel Alexander Belyakov is a Director and Chief military bandmaster. The head of this creative team is lieutenant colonel Sayat Tompakov. The permanent art leader is lieutenant colonel Kanat Akhmetov, talented bandmaster, musician, teacher; he has prepared a number of students with Awards in national and international contests. Since 2007 senior lieutenant Timur Dzhartybayev, a graduate of Moscow Military Conservatory is the military bandmaster of the Central Military Orchestra of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan,  the press service of the Kazakhstan Embassy in the UK informs.
