Minister of Education and Science held meeting with rectos of all higher education institutions of Kazakhstan in Almaty

ASTANA. October 21. KAZINFORM Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov held a meeting with rectors of all higher educational institutions of the country on October 21 in Almaty, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan informs.

The participants of the meeting discussed the goals of higher education in the country in regard of basic goals of development of the country set by the President.

The Minister noted key mechanisms to reach the goals such as equaling our education system to the international standards and integrating it with the world scientific education system, integration of education, science and production, establishment of the Nazarbayev University, development of scientific and innovative activity of universities and others.

New demands for the control of the quality of education, licensing, accreditation of higher educational institutions were announced.

The interest rose with the discussion of improving education standards in the light of the Bologna Process, advantages and disadvantages of the internationally recognized credit technology of education, increasing the level of applicants' selection, etc.

Upon the completion of the meeting the participants developed some measures and instructions on the discussed issues.
