Minister of Transport visited Mangystau oblast

ASTANA. April 13. KAZINFORM Minister of Transport and Communications Abelgazy Kussainov made yesterday a working trip to Mangystau oblast, the press service of the Ministry informs.

The Minister visited Transport Department of Karakiya district where he got familiarized himself with the course of capital repair of 59km long Aktau-Kuryk highway . Then A. Kussainov took part in a ceremony of inauguration of construction of Yeraliyevo-Kuryk railroad. Local executives, representatives of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, Astana-AREK LLP Concessioner Company and contracting companies attended the ceremony. Construction of a new Yeraliyevo-Kuryk railroad line is one of the priority tasks of Kazakhstan?s Transport Strategy for 2015 approved by the President of the country, A. Kussainov said. The project aims at provision of conditions for the development of coast infrastructure of Kazakhstan?s Caspian territories and transport service of Kuryk port. Its total cost is about KZT 8.1 bln. The projected volume of transportations is 4 mln tons in the first year. At the end of the visit, the Minister participated in a local Akimat's conference on development of transport infrastructure of the region.
