Ministry for Regional Development has a lot to do: Nazarbayev
At the meeting, Minister Sagintayev submitted a report on the implementation of tasks set in the "Kazakhstan-2050" Strategy" and at the extended government session with the participation of President Nazarbayev, and briefed Nursultan Nazarbayev on the current and future activities of his ministry.
President Nazarbayev noted the newly established ministry was responsible for a whole spectrum of problems.
"The problems of regional development, entrepreneurship, and housing construction need to be solved by the ministry systematically. The implementation of the program of the agro-industrial complex development should be closely monitored as well. You should also keep abreast of the realization of social programs in the regions: what facilities are being constructed, whether they meet specific standards and criteria, in what state the water reservoirs are, etc. No to mention the preparations for possible spring floods," the Kazakh leader stressed.
The Head of State also charged B. Sagintayev in association with the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies to control the work of facilities launched in the regions within the industrial and innovative program.
Minister Sagintayev, in turn, said he took part in the inauguration ceremony of South Korean President Park Geun-Hye. During the meeting with Mr. Sagintayev after the ceremony, the newly elected South Korean leader hailed Kazakhstan and Nursultan Nazarbayev's personal contribution to the promotion of nuclear-free world.
