Ministry of Labor and Social Protection had enlarged sitting of board
The session was chaired by Minister Gulshara Abdykalikova and was held in a format of a video-conference with the regional departments for control and social protection of the population. The board summed up the results of the Ministry's work over the reporting period, defined tasks for the second half of 2009 and primary measures on struggle against corruption within the President's Decree on this issue.
Certain measures were taken on realization of the President's Address to the Nation, Government's Anti-Recessionary Program and the Road Map, the sitting participants noted. 238.7 thousand new working places have been created. 177.3 thousand people were employed, 123.6 thousand of them were provided with jobs through employment bodies. Particular attention was given to the issues regarding observance of labor legislation, labor protection and social partnership.
It was also noted that mutual cooperation among the departments, akimats and employers on stabilization of production processes and ensuring employees' rights and guarantees had been established. More than 8 thousand memorandums were signed with the ventures; over 974 thousand people work at them.
Work on improvement of pension benefits and social protection of people, protection of socially disadvantaged groups is continued. The size of social payments was raised by 25% in 2009.
3 pilot projects are realized in South Kazakhstan, Akmola and East Kazakhstan regions within "Nurly Kosh" state program. As a result 851 houses will be built and 200 apartments will be reconstructed. Seven projects are expected to be implemented in 2010 following which 1 488 houses are planned to be built.
Following the sitting the participants defined the principal tasks for the Ministry, departments and akimats, terms of their fulfillment and persons responsible for them. It was also stressed to provide execution of the Government's Action Plan, Road Map and other programs regarding socio-labor sphere and prevention of corruption crimes.
