Ministry of Tourism and Sport to hold Kazakh kuresi wrestling tournament next year

ASTANA. October 22. KAZINFORM /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ The Ministry of Tourism and Sport plans to hold kazakh kuresi wrestling tournament in Astana next year where around 1 million wrestlers to take part in. The Head of the Ministry Temirkhan Dosmukhambetov informed.

'We held kazakh kuresi wrestling tournament recently in Karaganda and around 32-33 thousand people took part in it. Next year our sate will celebrate the 20^th anniversary of Independence. The final stage of the tournament is to be held in Astana, representatives from 14 regions and 2 cities are to participate in it. Roughly counting we can say that from 700 thousand to 1 million sportsmen will compete at the tournament', the Head of the Ministry said.

As he said the winner will be awarded a really valuable prize. The first place prize is USD 100 thousand. It is done in order to popularize sport in the country, national sports, in particular.
