Minsk to host CIS congress of pediatricians in October

MINSK. KAZINFORM The 5th Congress of Pediatricians of the CIS Countries "Child and Society: Problems of Health, Development and Nutrition" will take place in Minsk on 9-10 October, BelTA learnt from the Union State Permanent Committee that provides assistance in organizing the forum.

During the scientific part of the congress experts will assess the health condition of children living in the CIS, approaches to providing medical assistance, demographic challenges and the way to respond to them, ways to improve pediatric care, scientific and practical aspects of preventive programs in pediatrics, child care and feeding in modern-day conditions, nutrition of pregnant and breast-feeding women, healthy and sick children and many other topical issues, BelTA reports.

Taking part in the congress will be leading specialists from the CIS and non-CIS states.

The forum is traditionally organized by the Federation of Pediatricians of the CIS Countries and is held in one of the CIS states. Previously, the forum took place in Kiev (2009), Astana (2010), Moscow (2011), Lvov (2012), and Chisinau (2013).

The congress is co-organized by the Healthcare Ministry of Belarus, the Mother and Child National Research Center, the Belarusian State Medical University, the Belarusian Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education, the Association of Obstetricians-Gynecologists and Neonatologists of Belarus, the Belarusian Association of Doctors, the National Association of Dieticians of Russia, the Russian Association of Perinatal Medicine, the Russian Association of Pediatric Centers, the Association of Pediatricians of Ukraine, and the Global Initiative for Consensus in Pediatrics.
