Minsk to host session of CIS Interstate Council on Industrial Safety

MINSK. September 4. KAZINFORM The 11th session of the Interstate Council on Industrial Safety will be hosted by the CIS Executive Committee on 11-12 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

Participating in the session will be representatives of the industrial safety supervision bodies of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine.

The participants will discuss the Council's draft concept of approximation of national requirements for the issuance of permits to use technical devices at hazardous industrial facilities, and will examine the experience of joint control and preventive inspections of hazardous production in the oil and gas industry.

The two-day session will review the status of implementation of the agreement on cooperation in the field of industrial safety at hazardous production facilities till 2014, and the amendments to the legislation of the states-parties to the agreement.

The document was adopted by the heads of government of the CIS countries in Moscow in September 2001. The agreement is aimed at developing and deepening the cooperation, coordinating the effort to ensure industrial safety at hazardous production facilities, BelTA reports.

The Interstate Council on Industrial safety has been set up to supervise the implementation of the agreement. It convenes for annual sessions in one of the states-parties to the agreement.
