Mobile service price expected to lower in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. July 1. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan is expected to reduce prices for mobile services. This has been stated today at a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Chairman of the Agency of Kazakhstan for Competition Protection (ACP) Bolatbek Kuandikov.
As announced by him, during the appeal of mobile operators concerning decision on their inclusion in the register for the service interconnect, the sector regulator - Ministry of Transport and Communications - for over a year and a half has not been allowed to examine prices, and the Agency - to consider actions of dominants for abusing their position.
"Rates of interconnect in Kazakhstan are still very high and affect the final cost of mobile communications. Just recently has come into force the decision in favor of the Agency, in connection with what there is to be decline in prices for mobile phone services after a proper analysis", informed Bolatbek Kuandikov.
