Modernization of three oil refineries to cover need in oil products
ASTANA. August 12. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Modernization of three oil processing plants will let Kazakhstan cover need in oil products; Head of Administration for Organization on Oil Products and Refinery of the Oil Industry Development Department, Kazakh Ministry of Energy and Mineral Recourses Bakhyt Makhanov has informed of it today during a briefing in Astana.
"At present, the capacity of Pavlodar oil processing plant amounted to 5.2 mln tons per a year whereas capacity of Shymkent and Atyrau plants amounted to 5.3 mln and 4 mln tons respectively. After modernization the common production capacity of three plants will amount to 17 mln tons", - B. Makhanov said.
"According to our data the modernization will completely cover need of the country in oil products as well as increase volume of their production", - he noted.
The implementation of the modernization program is expected to be completed in 2014. The cost of the project amounted to USD 3 bln.
