A special commission was also created for the holding of the presidential election, which is made up of seven representatives of the Party of Communists. The opposition refused to delegate its representatives to the commission, according to the official Moldpres news agency. Under the constitution, at least 61 votes are required constitutionally for electing the president. If no candidate gets the required votes, a new round of balloting is held within 15 days.
