Moldovan acting president denied access to Interior Ministry archives

"Only people who have an access to state secrets have the right to enter the archives. Ghimpu has this right, but the journalists do not," Interior Minister Victor Catan said.

In his words, the change in Ghimpu's visit program was sudden. "We told him that the archives contained tens of thousands of files, and many of them were classified. Journalists have no access to the archives. He was offended and left," Catan said.
