CHISINAU. May 4. KAZINFORM The Moldovan government has tendered a resignation. Prime Minister Zinaida Greciany reported it at a government meeting on Monday; Kazinform refers to ITAR-TASS.

She explained that the resignation of a government in such cases is envisaged by the Moldovan Constitution and by the law on the government, under which the cabinet resigns before the end of the mandate of the parliament, which gives a vote of confidence to the cabinet of ministers.
?The new parliament will meet on Tuesday, and the government will ask it to approve its resignation,? Ms. Greciany said.
Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, who attended the government meeting, thanked the cabinet and asked its members to continue to discharge their duties until the formation of a new cabinet of ministers; Kazinform cites ITAR-TASS.
