Mongolia and UN review progress on sustainable development cooperation framework 2023-2027
The Second Meeting of the Joint Steering Committee of the Government of Mongolia and the United Nations (UN) to ensure the implementation of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2027 was held on December 11, 2023, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, MONTSAME reports.
At the Session, the actions taken by the UN in Mongolia were presented in the following three areas:
-Human development and well-being,
-Green, inclusive, and sustainable growth,
-People-centred governance, rule of law, and human rights.
The two sides emphasized the crucial role of coordination between the 12 accelerators to intensify the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, and the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2027" in 2024 , inclusive participation, and enhanced cooperation.
Mongolia and the United Nations signed the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2023-2027) on May 20, 2022. The Joint Steering Committee is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Document, providing guidelines, and making recommendations in line with national development priorities and regional and international development trends.
