Mongolian students claim two bronze medals at 35th International Biology Olympiad

The 35th International Biology Olympiad was held in Astana, Kazakhstan, on July 7-13, 2024, MONTSAME reports.

G. Misheel, a 12th-grader from Shine Ue School of Mongolia, and G. Ireedui, a 12th-grader from Baikal Ekh Lyceum High School of Mongolia, won bronze medals at the International Biology Olympiad.

Four students from Mongolia participated in this year’s International Biology Olympiad. The Olympiad's tasks were divided into four categories: biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and animal anatomy and physiology. The students demonstrated their scientific knowledge and skills by completing four practical tasks over 12 hours and a theoretical exam in two six-hour sessions.

Notably, two years ago, Mongolian students also won two bronze medals at the 33rd International Biology Olympiad held in Yerevan, Armenia.
