More than 3 thousand applied for Bolashak scholarship by now

ASTANA. August 14. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ -  More than three thousand candidates have applied for Bolashak scholarship as of today, Akerke Abylaikhan, Director of the Department for International Programs of the Education and Science Ministry, said today at the briefing.

From the overall number of applicants 2, 429 have been approved for further competitive selection. The majority applied for universities of Great Britain (1, 129), according to  Abylaikhan

Special quotas are ensured for several categories of applicants, such as rural residents, public servants, scholars and teachers. Application deadline is August 15.

According to the Education Ministry, over 16 years  1,781 professionals working in Kazakhstan have obtained education in the world's best universities under this program. The annual budget of the program amounts to KZT 13-16 billion.
