More than 300 people killed in fatal road accidents in Zhambyl rgn in 2013
TARAZ. KAZINFORM - 1 615 road accidents registered in the Zhambyl region in 2013 claimed lives of 312 people. 2 569 residents of the region sustained various injuries in those fatal accidents as well, according to Mr. Bekbolat Orynbekov, the first deputy governor of the region, said at the Wednesday session.

"The number of car crashes more than doubled last year compared to 849 traffic accidents in 2012. During his December working trip to the province, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to sort out the problem of high crush rate. We are to analyze the situation carefully and draw up recommendations on how it can be improved," B. Orynbekov said.
It was noted that the largest number of road accidents was registered in Taraz (753) and motorways of Kordaisky (193), Shusky (118), Merkensky (109) and Baizaksky (108) districts. 23 children were killed in the car crashes.
