More than KZT 9 mln raised for Golden Eagle rescue
Kazakhstan's golden eagles, living in the same habitat with people, already failed the fight for their territory and security" said the ornithologist of the Institute of Zoology of the Republic of Kazakhstan Andrei Kovalenko. Fires, waste, excessive curiosity of tourists and chaotic land management lead to death, both the unique birds and their prey.
At present the exact number of golden eagles in the south-east and east of the Republic of Kazakhstan is only about 650 pairs. It is assumed that a unique experiment for the removal of golden eagles in vitro and their subsequent release into the wild can solve the problem of their disappearance. "The young born in the experiment were hooked in wild birds nest successfully. Also completed is training of four golden eagles ", said the ornithologist of "Sunkar" Sergei Shmygalev.
Especially for the project «Efes Kazakhstan» company released a limited series of products to every citizen of Kazakhstan to have opportunity to make a real contribution to saving the birds.
"The massive interest in Kazakhstan exceeded the expectations of the project partners. The program has collected funds more than planned, " said the representative Julia Antonova. As stated by her, by the autumn of this year there will be developed a further plan to conserve population of golden eagles.
For successful continuation of the project it is necessary that every citizen of the country should follow the simple rules of communication with nature, the participants stressed. The project released a special reminder of the rules of behavior in the wild.
