Moscow held roundtable on coming presidential elections in Kazakhstan
According to Stanislaw Chernyavsky, director of the Center for Post-Soviet Studies at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), any election is a major political event that shakes up the political establishment in a country. The decision made by the Kazakh leadership is justified and the only correct one.
According to Andrei Fedorov from the Russian Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, the coming elections in Kazakhstan are of vital importance for Russia since they ensure stability of Kazakhstan. "In the post-soviet space Kazakhstan is the only country that passed the hard way from the soviet reality to the present without great losses," he said.
A. Fedorov also considers that Kazakhstan is a significant part of integration processes. Kazakhstan plays a big role in the international arena due to its initiatives on regional and global security and many other issues.
