Moscow hosted CIS Economic Council session

MOSCOW. March 15. KAZINFORM Drafts of agreements on interstate cooperation in the sphere of economy have been adopted during the 57th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Moscow.

Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Kairat Kelimbetov headed the Kazakh delegation.

List of innovative pilot projects including interstate program of innovation cooperation of CIS 2020, Interstate program of innovation cooperation of CIS 2020, Agreement on the prevention and suppression of wildfires in the border areas of the Commonwealth, the Agreement on the Status of the Economic Court of the CIS, The main directions (plan) of navigation in the CIS 2013-2017, revised Statutes of the Intergovernmental Council of Road were the key issues of the agenda.

The drafts of these agreements were approved, the CIS heads signed them and the documents will be submitted for consideration of the CIS Council of Heads of State, scheduled on May 31, 2013.

Besides, the information of the implementation of the Interstate program of innovation cooperation of CIS 2020, the Convention on Cross -Border Cooperation between the CIS countries, Concept of establishing national databases and organizing international exchange of information to prevent and combat crime in the area of intellectual property were also touched upon at the meeting.

Members of the Economic Council also read the reports of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communication, the Commission of the CIS states on the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes.

Chairman of the Executive Committee, the CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev noted that integration mechanisms in the Commonwealth are effective. "I hope that the creative and useful work will continue," he said.

The next meeting will be held on June 18 this year in Moscow.
