Moscow meeting of SCO prosecutors general on joint fight against crime

ASTANA. April 13. KAZINFORM The VII session of the prosecutors general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries has been held in Moscow today; Kazinform refers to the press service of the Prosecutor General?s Office.

Delegations from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and China took part in the session. Kazakhstan Prosecutor General Kairat Mami headed the Kazakh delegation. Within the framework of the session a wide range of directions on joint struggle against crime in the region was discussed. In particular, joint prevention of crimes in the economic sphere and activity of religious extremist organizations, countering transnational organized crime, drug crime and human trafficking. Speaking about the two last problems, the Kazakh Prosecutor General noted, that consolidation of joint efforts is the only way to ensure effective measures to maintain law and order in the SCO. K.Mami met with Chinese Prosecutor General Cao Jianming. At the meeting they discussed the issues of the Kazakh-Chinese cooperation in the fight against crime and other questions.
