MPs honor Shymkent plane crash victims with a moment of silence
ASTANA. December 26. KAZINFORM At the beginning of its plenary sitting the Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament held a moment of silence in memory of those killed in Shymkent plane crash.

"All who were on board, including acting head of the Border Service, Colonel Stambekov, were killed in yesterday's tragedy. We all knew Turganbek Stambekov and his colleagues who recently worked here in Parliament on a very important bill concerning the state border.
It is a big tragedy. We express our sincere condolences to the relatives of those killed," Majilis Chairman Nurlan Nigmatulin said.
As previously reported, on December 25 at 6:55 pm the military transport aircraft of the Border Patrol of Kazakhstan National Security Committee crashed near Shymkent. All 27 people on board, including seven crew members, died.
