Museums report revenue growth in Almaty in 2024
The number of visits to museums stood at 309,956 in Almaty last year, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
According to director of Almaty’s Museums Association Lyazzat Sagindikova, the city’s museums generated over 85 million tenge in revenue in 2024, rising from 60 million tenge a year before.
Last year, the Association of Almaty Museums became the first in Kazakhstan to receive the Best Museum of the Turkic World award. The Association was recognized the best among the museums of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, according to TURKSOY.
This is an important milestone for Almaty, promoting trust and interest in our museums both among foreign partners and local visitors, said the Association.
Earlier it was reported that 1.7 million tourists travelled to Almaty in three quarters of last year.
