MWL Deputy Sec Gen calls on countries of world to give up nuclear weapons

Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Zaid, Deputy Secretary General of the Muslim World League, called on countries of the world to give up the nuclear weapons following the lead of Kazakhstan, Kazinform Agency reports.

Addressing the 21st session of the Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, he said: “This modern city brought all of us together, and we have repeatedly reaffirmed our desire for peace across the entire world and our desire to achieve a public accord to overcome our contradictions in order to consolidate our universal values ​ ​ and turn them into effective projects that could rapproach our vision and positions regarding a large number of modern challenges."

He called on countries to stop the disastrous wars.

“We call on the countries of the world to give up the nuclear potential following the lead of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which voluntarily renounced these destructive weapons and chose the path of dialogue and mutual understanding as a tool of settlement of conflicts and overcoming the problems in its historical position, for which we are grateful to Kazakhstan,” he added.
