N.Kapparov’s funeral ceremony held in Almaty
Mayor of Almaty Akhmetzhan Yessimov expressed condolences to the family of N. Kapparov and read President Nursultan Nazarbayev's telegram of condolences. "Nurlan Kapparov always stood out among his peers and became a well-known entrepreneur during the years of Independence. He was a talented organizer and always used his knowledge and experience for development and prosperity of our country. We will not forget his merits," the telegram reads.
First Deputy Prime Minister Bakhytzhan Sagintayev expressed condolences to the family as well. "Although Nurlan left the Ministry of Environment and became the head of Kazatomprom, he headed the board of directors of "EXPO-2017". He was preparing for a meeting with the Head of State and was responsible for preparation of the Kazakh National Pavilion. We watched a video at the Prime Minister's office, and I made some remarks. It took Nurlan 10 days to make changes to the video. Now, I feel sorry for that, he could have met with the President and shared his ideas if I hadn't made those remarks. It could be the last project that he would complete. In memory of Nurlan, I will exert all my efforts to make sure that this video is approved by the President because Nurlan has put his heart into it," Sagintayev said.
Governor of Pavlodar region Kanat Bozumbayev noted that N.Kapparov was a perfectionist in his life. "He tried to bring to perfection everything he did. Many years have passed since he headed Kaztransoil. He turned the unprofitable company into a great prospering one. Working in Kazakhoil he managed to increase the export of Kazakh oil many times attracting a bulk financial inflow to the country. His contribution to the establishment of the National Fund is worth mentioning as well. This is a grievous loss for our country, economy and people," he noted.
N. Kapparov died on March 26 this year in Beijing. According to the information of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a heart attack was the cause of his death. He was buried at Kensay cemetery.
N. Kapparov was born on March 30, 1970 in Almaty. He held the posts of the Minister of Environment and Water Resource of Kazakhstan and Vice-Minister of Energy, Industry and Trade. He also headed Kazakhoil oil and gas company, KazTransOil. On August 7, 2014, he was appointed the Chairman of the Board and Member of the Board of Directors of Kazatomprom JSC.
