N Kazakhstan elects 3 new local akims

The North Kazakhstan regional territorial election commission announced the results of the elections of akims (governors) of Yessil, Mamlyutskiy and Timiryazev districts held on November 5, Kazinform Agency reports.

Akim of Yessil district, 61-year-old Mereke Mukhamediyarov, was reelected gaining 8,419 votes.

Elena Stepanenko, 51, was elected as the akim of Mamlyutskiy district.

Yerlan Zharov, aged 39 years old, was also reelected as the akim of Timirizyazev district. 3,563 people cast their votes for him.

35,846 people from 113 rural settlements of three districts were put on the voters’ list at large with 24,061 taking part in the elections.
