N. Nazarbayev: Amid recession we keep on building our industry
"I was happy to hold this evening with you today, to feel your support. I could feel this support when touring the country and meeting common people in rural areas. As the matter of fact the common population does not "feel" the crisis as such, which the world is experiencing at present. It was particularly hard at the beginning of the year though", - the President said.
The President underlined that the social status of Kazakhstani people did not get any worse. "The crisis came from the outside in fall 2007. I gathered the Government and USD 4 billion was allocated to fight the recession. In 2008 it even worsened and at the enlarged session of the Government it was decided to elaborate Anti-Crisis program. USD 10 billion was provided additionally to save banks from bankruptcy, lend funds to small and medium businesses, help home investors and continue home construction. We keep on building our industry: 80 facilities will be put into services which will create 9 thousand permanent jobs", Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
