N. Nazarbayev charged to develop action plan on women's promotion to executive positions
ASTANA. March 5. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev charged the Government, Presidential Administration, leadership of the Nur Otan Party, National Commission for Women to develop an action plan till 2016 aimed at promotion of women to executive positions in the state administration system.
The President has said it at the Congress of Women of Kazakhstan, held today in Astana.
"Gender Equality Strategy for 2006-2016 had a goal to reach 30 percent of women ranking among heads of state bodies. It was only 10 percent in 2010 because men occupied those positions. Therefore when we see a woman occupying such a position it means she works better than any men because the competition was too tough," the President said.
