N. Nazarbayev discussed issues of preserving cultural and historic heritage in Turkistan

SHYMKENT. March 11. KAZINFORM /Tatyana Pylayeva/ President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with representatives of the society in Turkestan city he is visiting within his working trip to South Kazakhstan region.

Director of 'Kazrestavratsiya' Kanat Tuyakbayev told the President about the process of restoration that had been held in the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi since 2006. K. Tuyakbayev noted that Turkish specialists had helped to restore the 14th century architectural monument for the celebration of the 1500th anniversary of the city. Unfortunately, modern materials were not compatible with ancient ones. Presently, the restoration is held for the second time.

N. Nazarbayev discussed the necessity of preserving cultural, architectural and historic heritage with representatives of the society of the region. Besides, the last published volumes of the encyclopedia - work of historians, writers, art historians and other specialists aimed at systematization, study and perseverance of the history of Kazakhstan was represented to the President.
