N.Nazarbayev: Finland ? significant state in cooperation with EU
HELSINKI. March 24. KAZINFORM /Yernur Akanbai/ Kazakhstan considers Finland as a significant state in cooperation with the European Union. Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has announced it at a press conference after negotiations with President of Finland Tarja Halonen; Kazinform reports.
?We are grateful to Finland for support in the issue of Kazakhstan?s chairmanship in the OSCE. Also Finland supports Kazakhstan?s accession to the World Trade Organization. We consider Finland an important state in the issue of cooperation of Kazakhstan with the EU?, the Head of the State said.
N.Nazarbayev said that during the negotiations trade-economic relations, humanitarian issues were discussed, there was also an exchange of opinions on international and regional policy. The Head of the State noted that position of Kazakhstan and Finland on key issues of foreign policy largely coincide.
