N. Nazarbayev received G. Marchenko

ASTANA. March 14. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan received Chairman of the National Bank Grigory Marchenko, the Presidential press service informs.

G. Marchenko informed the President about the situation at the foreign exchange market of Kazakhstan. The national Bank of Kazakhstan has acquired USD 6 billion since the beginning of this year. The nominal rate of tenge has strengthened against the U.S. dollar by 1.25 percent.

'It has had no impact on inflation. This situation does not threaten the competitiveness of our economy. The other currencies such as Euro, ruble, Chinese yuan strengthen against the U.S. dollar in a faster pace', the Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan said at the briefing for journalists.
