N. Nazarbayev told about obstacles on Kazakhstan's way to WTO
Delivering a speech at the youth forum in Astana today, Nursultan Nazarbayev told that there was no ideal free market economy in fact. However, there are market regulators that are used by the states in accordance with their interests and intentions. All developed countries support their industries, agriculture and business subsidizing them. They put barriers on the way of foreign products by helping their own.
"Now we are working on joining the WTO. We are at the stage of very difficult negotiations. We have held these talks with many countries over the recent ten years. They say we have to reduce the support of the agricultural sphere. Although, based on the production volume we render support just at the level of 4%, this level is about 25% in France and in the USA and some other countries it is even higher. However, they insist that we have to reduce the support rendered by the state in the agricultural sphere. But if we don't support our agriculture we make it uncompetitive on purpose," the Head of State stressed.
