National Bank of Kazakhstan intends to prevent tenge exchange rate from fluctuations

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The National Bank plans to prevent the national currency exchange rate from sharp fluctuations in 2015, Head of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Kairat Kelimbetov told at the enlarged sitting of the Government of Kazakhstan of Kazakhstan today.

He believes the bank has enough potential to do it.

"We continue the policy of the current currency corridor. Present macroeconomic conditions only help in this regard. In case there are any significant changes on the internal capital markets we will be aiming to smoothly change the exchange rate of the national currency," he added.

Besides, he informed that the Government and the National Bank would approve the plan on dedollarisation of the economy of Kazakhstan in the nearest future.
