National Census 2009 begins in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. February 25. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ A telephone conference of the Kazakh Government on the issues of the National Census 2009 is taking place in Astana today, Kazinform reports.

?55 thousand counters have started work at 8 a.m. toady in all regions of the republic. All preparatory works were accomplished?, cChairman of the Kazakh Statistics Agency Anar Meshimbayeva said. As reported earlier, the second census is held in the country on February 25 - March 6, 2009. The census is held using the method of population survey. The counters are provided with brief cases, census forms, instructions and city maps, free passenger tickets. The Kazakh Government provided the regional centers with special transport. Besides, the Government took measures on provision of security of the counters. Each counter must have special ID, a brief case, a scarf with the census logo, a pen and a flashlight.
